Introduction or “What it’s all about”MySlideShow Gold is a full-fledged utility for creating slide shows. With its help you can make a presentation, add caption and background music or create a family photo album. The program is capable of grouping photos into web galleries, screensavers and recording VCD (or DVD). The distinctive feature of MySlideShow Gold is its capability to pack slide shows into executable files (.exe and .scr) thus making it easier to access and distribute them. Allows you to put small images, web links, video clips and Flash animations on slides using the Slide Editor as well as collect several slide shows into an Album and edit it with a special toolkit. AppearanceDevelopers from Anixsoft find it similar to Internet Explorer. Frankly it looks more like earlier editions of ACDSee Photo Manager. Accurate, simple icons and minimal size menu allow for wide working area. Though of course solid menu bars and icons would look way more showy and impressive. On the other hand it preserved the “classic interface” for Windows. Usability testing (shortly about operation)From the get go you ask yourself: «Can it really make all that?». But already after your third experience of working with MySlideShow Gold you change your mind for: «How the heck did they manage to cram it all in one program!» User’s notesWhat I like best is the ability to save slide shows as .exe files (in that way MySlideShow Gold stands head and shoulders above the rest that tend to save files in their own formats). There are a lot of transition effects and integration of music is very easy. This feature is pretty amazing by the way – the program allows you to either synchronize slides with background music or preset your own timeline. You can customize display time of each slide up to 0.1 sec and switch off effects while doing it which is really important. It might take some time and effort but it’s really worth it especially when collecting several slides together. MySlideShow Gold enables you to add sound and collection of images with one interval, then alter the rhythm and synchronize it to music and slides. Another impressive feature is the ability to rotate images to the position you want and burn VCD. Besides while creating a slide show you can customize such settings as font, color and sound for each individual slide. MySlideShow Gold offers standard textual design – very uncomplicated. But Slide Editor allows you to place and edit additional text boxes (customize font and color), paste a link and even another image on slides. The program lets you easily and conveniently save you projects allowing to burn VCD or save as a file. On the whole the software is quite balanced and stable which can be accounted for its seven-year record of service and development. The programmers had plenty of time to correct mistakes and add new features. Still it would be great to have the ability to customize parameters for individual slides and not only for the whole slide show as it is now (inter-slide interval, effects etc.). Though the feature of collecting several slide shows into an Album remarkably diversifies an ordinary slide show. TroublesNone detected while using. P.S.
